The only hill station in Central India, Pachmarhi is Madhya Pradesh’s most peaceful and verdant getaway, which is situated at a height of 1067 meters. Pachmarhi lies within the Pachmarhi Biosphere Preserve, created in 1999 to link two forest reserves and Satpura National Park into a larger wildlife conservation area. It also has Dhupgarh - the highest point in Central India.

The closest airports are located in Jabalpur (230 kms), Bhopal (198 kms) and Nagpur (256 kms) cities.

Train
The closest railhead to reach Pachmarhi is Pipariya. Remember not all trains stops in Pipariya.

Pipariya is a small station between two major railway junctions - Itarsi (100 kms) and Jabalpur (201 kms).

If you are coming by train get down at Pipariya railway station. Pachmarhi is 55 kms from Pipariya by road. Private buses and cars are available at Pipariya to reach Pachmarhi.

Ask for pick up and drop off arrangements from Pipariya while booking the tour packages for Pachmarhi. (Additional charges may apply).

Alternatively, you can take train upto Jabalpur, Bhopal or Nagpur and then drive to Pachmarhi by car.

Jabalpur, Bhopal and Nagpur are the major junctions and are well connected with other cities in India by rail and air.

Road
Driving experience in hills is recommended while driving from Pipariya to Pachmarhi. The roads on the hill section are in good conditions for driving but with several tight and blind corners. So exercise caution at all times.
